I bought this item because I wanted to watch my daughter's portion intake. It is perfect. I have put the container on the scale, turned it on to take it to zero(no tare) and then showed her how to limit her snacks into portions as it says on packages. I allow her certain unlimited snacks, such as blueberries, grapes, etc, but when it comes to occasional packaged snacks we are now going by portion sizes. Thank you, this thing is wonderful.

It works, does the trick, a little confused about all the changing of the units and such because when I push the button it'll sometimes convert it into liquids and it takes me a while to change it back. But it works fine! Can't figure out how to switch it back to pounds from kilos right now.Ideally it should have a unit button so that you can switch it back and forth easily, so it's a bit of a pain but otherwise does its job.

I had bought this in November 2011. I had planned to use to help weigh items that I sellas well as food items.Well the scale won't weigh unless the battery door is off. It keeps turning off and on.I can't select it to weight lbs, which makes it confusing when you try to convert ounces to pounds.If you want a kitchen timer, this would be ok. Otherwise, don't buy.
