this is the second one we have bought. the first one started to have some issues after a year or so. it still worked but you had to pick it up and and set it down again to reset it to weigh again. overall its a solid scale. my mother inlaw also has the same one with out the issue i had. we both bought at the same time.i hope this helps

This scale does what we expect scale's to do - namely - Gives accurate weight measurements. It doesn't take other strange medical readings like bone density, BMI and it doesn't whistle 'Dixie' when we achieve our 'weighted goals'..........It graces your bathroom with it's understated simplicity and elegance of lines. Now if it will only last as long as my last one I'll be a happy camper.

First, the product arrived with 2 AAA batteries, but it requires 4. That is irritating. Second, after buying the batteries, the digital readout shows message "StOP". So I went to SECA website, looked up the product manual, and it has no data about what digital readouts might occur. In fact, I would describe the product manual as completely useless and poorly written, although I did learn that the scale indicates your weight after you step off of it, not when you step on to it, which is unusual. So I wrote to Seca customer service, requesting data about what StOP means, and what do I need to do to get the scale to say anything BUT StOP. I have yet to receive a response. Very irritating.I do not recommend this product, although if it worked, it is attractive glass.
