1Not Ready for Prime-Time
By Mark Gazdik
While the sleekness and beauty of the scale itself should inspire at least 2 stars, being priced at over $60 knocks it back down to a single star. BUYER BEWARE: as of Jan 2012, the iPhone app that works with the scale is attrocious (see iHealth Scale app reviews). In short, the app frequently does not connect with your iPhone automatically, requiring a manual Bluetooth connection each time you weigh in. Using the scale with more than one person is annoying, since the scale itself only captures weigh-ins, not separate users. If more than one person weighs in without having the phone app active and connected (through Bluetooth), the scale stores those weigh-ins. Sounds like a good thing - until when you go to upload multiple weigh-ins stored on the scale, and you at 140 pounds have someone else's 180 pound weigh-ins mixed in with yours. The calorie tracker functionality of the app is useless, because you can't add calories manually, only by selecting from a pre-determined list of foods (including chicken tenders, but not grilled chicken breast, eggs with herring, but not an omelet or quiche). While you can normally wait patiently for apps to improve over time, there is no good reason I can think of to purchase this expensive of a scale which does next to nothing, and certainly not all the functions advertised without a lot of extra hassle and fuss. Do you really want to have your iPhone in a bathroom - which has a lot of water which is no good for phones - every time you weigh in? I guess the solution is to keep the scale in the bedroom or elsewhere, but what looks like a really cool concept fails *miserably* in the execution.

5Perfect for long-term weight logs
By John Feinberg
I bought this scale for my wife so that she could keep track of her weight over the course of her pregnancy. When I first tried it out, I was bewildered by the inconvenience of the process of connecting it to an iPhone. There was no way my wife would want to do this every time she used the scale! But then I realized how the scale is meant to be used. You *don't* have to connect to an iPhone to use it! Just use it, and it stores the weights (along with date/time) in the internal memory. Then upload the weights every week or two. So you only have to go through upload process periodically, and NOT every time you weigh yourself. Some quirks I've figured out about this scale:You must connect the scale to your iPhone (via Bluetooth) BEFORE you use it to weigh yourself the first time. This sets the scale's internal clock and calendar. If you do not, then any weights that are recorded before the initial link will not be stored. If you change the batteries, you again must connect the scale via bluetooth, or any weights recorded after the battery change are lost. When you take out the batteries, the internal clock/calendar loses its place. The scale works great on NiMH rechargeable batteries (4 AAA).The batteries supplied with the scale, alkalines, only lasted a week. The scale then displayed LO, and wouldn't record any more weights. The downloading process is a bit clunky. Turn on the scale, go to iPhone prefs, go to general, then bluetooth, then find the scale and hit connect. Then run the app. You then see a list of the weights stored in the scale, and you're asked if you want to download them. Don't forget to hit save!Despite the quirks I'm giving it 5 stars. I love the ability to simply use the scale for weeks on end (just step on it!) and it does the job of holding onto the weight information, along with date and time. You can just download when you feel like it. This feature alone gives it the 5 stars, for me.

2Needs improvement
By Zuckerboy
I agree the bluetooth connection is rather mediocre. However once you get the hang of how to connect the scale to the phone, it sorta works. You can step on the scale and store your weigh ins for a while. I had many misreadings / transmissions when it came to history and non-live weight measurements.I really wish this synced with the fitbit system. That is my biggest frustration.
