Product Description
The new bioweigh-usb body composition scale from american weigh allows you view a complete breakdown of your body fat, water, muscle, and bone. the scale works on the principle of bia (bio impedance analysis). by passing a safe electrical current through your body via the metal contacts and using weight, height, and age data, your lean/fat-free body mass is calculated. this is then subtracted from your body weight to obtain body fat mass. you can use the included usb cable and weightrak software to upload your scale’s stored data to a pc. note: although the scale uses a safe electrical current, those with pacemakers or other electronic implants should not use this scales body fat feature.

I purchased this with some reservations. Other scales with a computer interface cost considerably more. Could this one be any good? I am pleased to say that the answer is yes. While it was a little awkward to figure out at first, and I thought maybe I had a lemon, the problem was one of operator error (if you want to use the advanced features, you have to select the user first). The weight is within a couple of ounces of my balance beam "doctor's office" scale, and the software seems to work fine under Windows 7 running on a Mac with Parallels. All and all, I am pleased with this purchase.

I was at a fair where a booth measured my body with a BIA analyzer, which costs around $3000.00 online. After getting the measurement, I identified and bought this scale because I finally had a way to compare accuracy. Results between two:Tanita weight 80.9kg, fat 13.1% water 60.2% Muscle 66.8kg bone 3.5kgBioweigh weight 81.1kg fat 13.3% water 65.4% Muscle 35.84 Bone 3.0kgAS you can see, the only big difference was the muscle mass, and I like the Bioweigh better here because my body is note 66.8/80.9= 83% muscle. As a disclaimer, I live in Germany, and "MuskelMasse" is what it says on the printout there. It is easy to use, it is pretty fast, and it is consistent with itself. It also looks well made and doesn't feel cheap at all. Software is easy to use too. Others may be more polished, but five stars for comparable accuracy and low price.

Great Scale. Has feature of uploading information of your weighing, day, time, result of BMI into your computer. I have contacted the manufacturer and found them very friendly and helpful in answering my questions. Software is easy to install and use. I was very satisfied with the value and quality of this product.
