I chose this scale because of the advertised slimness, and it is slim. It sits very low to the ground. It's also attractive and sleek looking. BUT it's very big around--bigger than it needs to be I think--and takes quite a bit of space in the bathroom. My other issue is that it sometimes won't settle on a weight and flits back and forth between different weights. When it does settle on one weight, the display does last a good length of time. The last issue I found is that I can weigh myself several times in a row (within a minute or two) and get slightly different results.Would only recommend this if you really like the slimness, otherwise there are more accurate scales that take up less room.Updated to add: THe battery for this scale died a few months ago and as it takes the round "watch" style battery, I still have not replaced it as I never seem to have the time to make that special trip. So now the scale is sitting in my closet. It would definitely be nice if this used a more common type of battery like AA or AAA that I'd have around the house.

As the old joke goes: "Take my wife. Please." By that I mean, she tried this scale and didn't like it because she said that she weighed several pounds more standing on it than our other scale registered. So now I have my very own scale, which I think is more accurate than the old one by 1.5 pounds. I have weighed myself at the same time every morning since I got the scale (right after showering) and it has shown me the same numbers consistently. I'm very happy with it.So why 4 stars instead of 5? The Omron Digital Slim Scale is so sensitive that even the slightest irregularity in the floor throws the accuracy off. In my case, by over 20 pounds! Just be careful where you place it.

This opaque glass scale has a lovely, space-agey look. At first I was a bit hesitant to step on a glass scale because I was afraid it would break and my feet would have shards of glass underneath. However, the unit is strong and sturdy and almost looks like milk glass with its whitish tint. The display is digital, easy-to-read, and rapid. Two caveats- it is somewhat larger than many scales, so it needs to have a dedicated space, and it needs to placed on very level ground for accuracy. In fact, I would recommend using a floating level before placement because I found that trying it in several different locations, all hard surfaces (granted, not new construction) resulted in 1- 12 pound discrepancies on the reading. When the unit is placed in a secure extremely level location its readings are precise and consistent.This unit is sleek and elegant and makes the daily weigh-in a little more sleek with its aesthetics. However, its temperamental needs for placement dock it from a higher rating. Weighing already has enough neurotic negotiations in it (shoes? AM/PM? etc.) that the level plane of a floor should NOT be part of the equation.
