The Epica Digital Body Fat Scale uses bio-electrical impedance analysis to identify the various components of your body, and calculates the percentage of each one. It works because fat, water, etc., all have different levels of resistance to a small electrical current sent through your body. This current is not perceptible and is completely safe.

It never worked properly and changing between users was difficult and didn't seem to work half the time.This scale is literally a dream come true. It is stylish and extremely nice looking. It features a nice blue light LCD display that is backlit and I love the way it looks. The numbers are large and very readable. The scale was simple to set up and I have included a video about the scale and how to use it. I hope the video is useful to you.The scale will hold the user data for up to 8 users and it is a smart scale so it knows who is on the scale without touching buttons. You program each user into the scale and you do the following:* Touch set* Touch the arrow to set the proper user number and touch set.* Touch the arrow to set the gender to male, female or athlete and touch set.* Press the arrows to set up the proper user height and press set.* Press the arrows to set the user age and touch set* In a few seconds the scale reads "00" and it is ready to program another user or to use.I like the fact that you just step onto the scale and it recognizes who you are based on you weight and it immediately starts weighing you. The scale then flashes a moving row of zeros and then it will show your percent of fat, change to percent of total body water, change to percent of muscle, and then display the pounds of bone mass. If there are two users very close to the same weight then the scale will flash the two user numbers side by side and ask you to touch the arrow to indicate which user you are.The manual recommends measuring your weight in the morning before eating. It advises you to drink 8 ounces of water in the evening one hour before you measure your fitness values. Then you can eat your evening meal after you weigh and measure your fitness values. I have included a lot of detail below and in the attached video.I love this scale and it is the best scale I have ever owned. I love the backlight display for its ease of readability and seeing your weight in a darkened room. The scale is stylish and very attractive and features a large and stable platform to stand on. I don't have to press buttons to make a measurement! The programing and set up was fast and easy.Let me note that this is a very nice product and I highly recommend it to you. I like this scale a lot. What separate this scale from the others is the ability to tell you how much body fat you have. Just don't lose the manual because you need the chart which tells you how much body do you have in terms of your age, gender and height. It is very important to step on the scale barefoot as it sends electrical signals using the metallic conductor on the scale to your body to determine your body fat. Weigh reading will be instantaneous, while you may need to stand longer like five seconds to measure your other stat.Once I programmed it for my wife and me, the scale remembers who are stepping on the scale (probably by the difference in weights).I compared this with my other scales and accuracy is dead on. Switching between lbs and kgs is easy by pushing a button at the back. Batteries included - requires 4 AAAs.Setting up the scale:Press the Set button on top of the scale. You will navigate using the set, left arrow and up arrow buttons.Enter P#. P1 will be the first person you enter the info, maybe you. P2, your wife, and so on.Enter gender. It appears as a symbol which is very easy to identify a man from a woman.Enter heightDone.Take note that every time you enter an info, you will need to press 'set' to enter it.Sample item was provided for review purposes.

The Epica Precision Body Fat Scale is my second body fat scale. So far, it has proven itself superior.The display is large and bright (my other one is small and dark). It's very easy to read. I don't need to squint. The platform is generous. It's made to weigh people up to 400 pounds and it looks sturdy enough.There is also the matter of convenience: My other scale requires that I stand on it with moist feet. This one wants dry feet. Dry is so much easier. I'm not usually stepping out of a shower when I want to check my body fat.PROGRAMMINGProgramming was very easy. It can hold up to eight profiles in its memory. I entered the gender and height of myself and my husband. I stood on the scale for a moment and then told the scale I was profile #1. He is profile #2. Since we are markedly different in weight, the scale just knows who I am when I stand on it. Once it's programmed, we don't have to fiddle with it.WHAT IT MEASURESThe Epica scale has readings for body fat percentage, body water percentage, muscle mass percentage, and bone mass percentage. On the back of the manual are tables so we know where we fall on the charts. Not all manuals make it this easy.CONCLUSIONI love how easy it is to use this scale. Once I had it programmed, I only need to step on it and the readings cycle through. There's no need to select my profile. The numbers are quick to display. They're large, bright, and easy to read. I get consistent readings.I have made the Epica my primary scale. The other one is now relegated to the children's bathroom.This product was provided for review by USA Enterprises.
