I wouldn't be writing this unless I liked the product and was hoping the software could be improved.The Good:It works. It does what it should.The "Bad":- Buttons are a bit flimsy and can get stuck "on" if not pressed directly.- User setup/data entry (weighing) are a bit confusing.- The LCD can't be read well unless looking directly at it.- Manual isn't complete and needs editing.- Software MSCOMCTL.OCX does not get registered properly on Windows8. To fix, open a command prompt as the Administrator user and type:c:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe "c:\program files (x86)\BalanceFrom Health\MSCOMCTL.OCX"- Software exports .txt data as cm/KG regardless of your UI setting.- Software exports .mdb as a password protected database. What's the password???- BalanceFrom.com listed on the product manual is a blank blog.

1. Big display with backlit. It's so easy to read my weight and fitness results every time compare to my previous one.2. The metal (I guess these are what they called "plate") is big. I know it's important for the metal to touch my skin in order to get a accurate reading.3. It's accurate. I own a professional scale for many years (The professional one just looks in old fathion). I compare them and they give me same reading every time.4. For fitness results, including BMI, water, bone, etc., it's a little big different (5% difference) than my most recent anual medical check at my local hospital. Good enough!5. This scale is beautiful!! Large black platform with two silver metal plates and 3 GIANT silver keys. Great design!6. The product was packed so well in the pretty box. Would be a perfect gift idea.7. The software is cool too. I can track my history & record on my computer now.8. One thing not ideal: The software does NOT work on my Mac which is mentioned in product description.Overall, a 5-star scale. Thank you.

***Update-My original review (see below) was done when I had a scale that was not working properly. This company reached out to me to make things right and now I have a scale that works perfectly fine. I would recommend this scale to anyone and if you have a problem, this company will make things right. At least that is what happened with me.*(Original review)Scale does not work as it should. It keeps giving program errors and does not save information inputted in it. This is also hard to return without spending money on return shipping...so I am going to save the hassel and tell people not to purchase this item.
