Product Description
This is NewlineNY USA's newly innovated Eco-friendly Solar Digital Bathroom Scale SBS-0868-NYDW. This "Go-Green" scale has 2-sets of built-in solar cells that can largely draw power from sunlight or ordinary household lights. The solar scale not only eliminates the need to buy or recharge batteries, but also saves our landfills from battery contamination. It's made of glass (attractive, durable, and no chemical exposure from plastic). This scale also comes with the latest "Auto-Step-On" technology. There is no need to tap, simply step on the scale to get a reading with 5 seconds automatic shut-off to preserve power & energy. Tips: Always expose the scale to solar or bright ambient lights for 1 minute for the 1st time use or from no light storage.

i wouldn't recommend purchasing this, even though the solar power is a nice idea. oh, & it looks good. that being said, if i could have given it zero stars i would have. i opened the box, took off the plastic, let it sit under the light for a few minutes. got on, it gave me a reading in kg., i changed it to us pounds easily enough. i put it down, let it sit a minute, got back on, got a reading i thought was a little high. got back on, got the exact same reading. having read enough of these reviews to know about 'copycat' readings, i waited a few minutes, got back on, amazingly enough, i lost 4 lbs! i said ok, maybe the floor in here isn't level enough. i moved it to the bathroom. i wait a few minutes, get on, it won't go on. i put it back in the spot right under the light where i had originally put it, it won't go on. i tried 2 or 3 more times, same result. i said, ok, started the return process & i'm still looking for a scale. there's a (very)small chance i got a 'bad' one but since there wasn't an option for a replacement on the return, well, you do the math.

This is a lovely scale. Nice design. Very pretty colors and slim profile. My only problem has been that it needs very bright light to work. For now, a flashlight shined briefly on it makes it work just fine.
